Acrylic on canvas board, 8 x 10 inches. This is another of Johannes Vermeer’s 17th century (C.1657-58) paintings that I’m working on at this time. The painting finally made its way to the Rijksmuseum, a Dutch national museum passing through the hands of a half dozen collectors. In 1908 it was purchased with support from the Dutch government and the Rembrandt Society.
