Acrylic on canvas, 12 x 12 inches. This painting was completed in a course entitled Coastal Canvas taught by Will Kemp at The Will Kemp Art School. I’ve taken many classes with Will Kemp over the last ten years. I hadn’t taken one in about two years, so when he announced this new course, Coastal Canvas.
I was inspired by the course content and the image we were working with. Also, taking a course with Will Kemp is a pleasure. He’s one of the outstanding art teachers in the world.

After preparing the canvas, I made a drawing of the scene. As you can see in the photos, I painted the scene following the outline in the course. The following are some pictures to show my progress. I don’t like the sailboat in the middle of the scene, and I will probably change it later.
