Acrylic on a Wood Clip Board, 10 x 14 inches. My friend Peter Kriel has been out of action for several months, and during his recovery, I thought it might be nice for him to have clip board which he could use to keep a log of his physical therapy workout sessions.  I prepared four copies of a chart that he could use to record his progress.

But I also thought the back of the clipboard would be a great painting surface, after I put two coats of gesso on it.  Then, using acrylics, I painted a forest scene of colorful trees reminding him of what’s to come after his recovery.

In the first picture shown below, you can see that the surface used is indeed the back of a clip board.  My pallete is shown.IMG_0498

I used masking tape to cover the spaces that would become birch trees in the forest.  After I finished the major part of the painting, I removed the tape, and then added dark spots and limbs to the trees, as seen below.
