Acrylic on board, 11 x 14 inches. This was an acrylic portrait study in Will Kemp’s online Acrylic Portrait Course.
The study began with making a drawing of the figure, on a canvas board with burnt sienna ground. Using the Zorn’s Palette, the dark areas were blocked in with a light brown, and darker areas with a dark, nearly black. The background was painted loosely with a neutral 6 gray, and later using a lighter gray. Here are some of the photos showing progress of the study.
