Acrylic on canvas, 18 x 24 inches.
Fishing near La Plata is a painting of the La Plata Mountains in the background, and in the foreground, a small lake or pond along Colorado highway 160, west of Durango in the town of Hesperus. The painting is based on photographs I took on a 10 day trip to Colorado and Wyoming. The person fishing and the dog were added for a focal point.
